Spice Up Your Guest Bathroom this Holiday Season
‘Tis the season for hosting family get-togethers and large friend gatherings. With that, comes the responsibility of prepping your bedrooms and bathrooms so that visitors feel right at home. The long list of seasonal chores can seem intimidating, that’s why we’ve put together some stress-free tips to get your home holiday-ready for guests.
Bathroom Cleaning Tips
Let's face it, cleaning the bathroom is a daunting task on your long list of to-dos. Keep your bathroom in good shape without spending hours deep cleaning using these helpful tips:
- Declutter. Cluttered countertops and shelves make for a messy first impression. Take advantage of drawer space and be sure to put away your toiletries, cosmetics, beauty tools in their respective places. Use baskets and organizers if you are tight on space.
- Prioritize comfort. Stylish, highly functional and good quality bathroom accessories make all the difference for a best-in-class bathroom experience. A pristine and well-functioning throne is essential for any bathroom, including for guests. Consider upgrading your toilet seats before the holidays for a comfortable and durable seat like our Superior Toilet Seat that won’t stain, slam or slip.
- Use seasonal scents. Avoid suffocating odors and keep the bathroom smelling fresh with simple bathroom hacks. Put a luxury scented fragrance diffuser near the toilet, leave out some holiday-scented poo-pourri for guests to use before they go, or place some aromatic soaps in a seasonal dish.
- Sanitize. Make a bathroom cleaning kit with some all-purpose cleaner, sanitizing wipes, toilet bowl tablets and essential oils for a quick and easy cleaning solution in-between visitors. However it’s important to note that you shouldn’t clean a toilet seat the same way you clean a toilet bowl. Avoid aerosols, acid, rubbing alcohol, harsh chemicals or cleaners containing chlorine. Instead, clean your seat using a soft cloth and mild dishwashing liquid diluted with water or use diluted multi-surface cleaners or chlorine-free disinfecting wipes.
- Quick Fixes. Be sure to check for any leaky faucets, wiggling toilet seats or loose handles before your guests arrive. The bathroom gets a lot of action, so taking care of natural wear and tear is an easy way to keep your guests safe. To test your toilet seat wiggle, close the lid and gently push the seat left or right. The seat may move slightly, no more than 1/4 inch at the front of the bowl, and then return to its original position when side pressure is removed. If your seat moves more than this, it may be defective and need to be replaced.
